At the moment I need some help locating a material for the abdomen on a golden stone nymph. An image has been posted below. The story behind this fly is that a friend received it from a local tyer who has since passed away. This is the only remaining fly my friend has and as you can see, it has been fished heavily. I offered to attempt to tie some duplicates for him. It is a simple tie, but the challenge I have had is finding the material for the abdomen. It is thicker than any latex I own and unlike any ribbing material I've ever used, it has a very squared edge, creating what to my eye is an exaggerated segmentation. For reference on size, it is tied on a #10 standard Mustad nymph hook with a slight downward bend between the abdomen and thorax.

Any ideas on a substitute material?

Thank you.
